Help Help :) The only problem not having a passport ,is that if you have to fly home from alaska in an emergency your goverment requires that you have a passport to travel by plane. If you are medically evacuated of the ship to canada for treatment , you will definitely require a passport to fly from Canada to the USA :)
littlegap Posted May 20, 2008 #6 Share Posted May 20, 2008 We got passports because the new rules state that one is needed if you are flying to and from Canada. I checked this over and over again just to make sure as I did not want to spend $200 for something that we would only use to get off the plane and go to ship in Vancouver. In the end I am glad I did because I know I have it (peace of mind, and because we decided to take the 9 hr tour going to Emerald Lake. The upside of this story...it only took 1 week from application to delivery of the passports. Just do a search online. Everyting I looked up said that passports are needed as of Jan. Hope this helps! :o
