Lodging at the Brooklyn Cruiseport

Recommended Posts

Our hotel room was really nice. It had this glowing glass between the bathroom and the bedroom. I can't remember the name of the Mexican Restaurant. It was just a short walk to Park Slope. We turned left out of the hotel. At the corner we continued straight across a fairly large street. There was some kind of Deli on the corner and a little further was the mexican restaurant. It was really good....not your typical taco's and burrito's.

The large street is 4th avenue. Its the same street that the NY Marathon runs on after they leave the Verrazona Narrows Bridge. The next major street as you walk east is 5th Avenue(its pretty simple really)...There are probably 10 mexian resturants within 10 blocks...

Will be staying at the Marriott in October and wonder if you have the name of the car service that you used? Thanks.

Sorry not to see your question earlier. I have been gone for a few days. If you want to e-mail me at ssbeagle@yahoo.com, I will be happy to give you that information. He was very good. We had used Carmel first and the car they sent was terrible. It was dirty and we thought it was on its last legs. The driver wasn't very friendly at all. When we found this other guy we knew we had a keeper.

Does any know if there is a liquor store situated within walking distance of the Marriott?

Thanks!

There is a whole shopping area just a block from the hotel and restaurants two blocks away that are very good. It's a very short easy walk. You can find just about everything you want there. The people at the concierge and/or front desk were very helpful and gave us excellent recommendations on where to go.

Yes the closest liquor store is on Smith Street two Blocks South of Atlantic(about 1/4 mile) Sterling Liquors....its not the best but its there. The next closest os on Atlantic between Clinton and Hicks-heights Chateau....much better wine selection. There is one liquor store on Montague street- and there is none on Fulton Street. Town Liquor on Henry and Clarke Street will deliver for a small fee and takes credit cards(as they all do)...all of these are between 1/2 to one mile away....

Do any of the hotels right near the port provide a park and cruise service? We are on the CB in August and will probably be driving from Hartford. We could drive in that morning but it might also be nice to drive in a day early. Thanks
