Musica, Venice?

Booked

Recommended Posts

We're cruising on the Musica, Italy and Greece on June 15th - just booked 2 days ago, unexpected and in a rush, so very exciting!

We've booked the Saturday night in Venice with transport to the ship on Sunday morning.

Can anyone who's done this itinerary help me out -

Once you've embarked in Venice, is it easy to leave the ship to enjoy Venice for a few more hours, since the ship does not leave port until 5? (or 6?)

Any other info/secrets about the Musica, and this trip would be most helpful too.

Many thanks

CA

Hi

We just arrived back last Saturday from our Trip to Europe which included a 7 night cruise on the Musica from 4 - 11 May departing from Venice.

We stayed in Venice for two nights before the cruise in a lovely B&B and the owners, Mario and Esmeralda let us leave our bags there until we were ready to go to the ship so that we could spend as much time as possible in Venice.

We didn't arrive at the ship until around 2:30pm so it gave us a lot of the day to just cruise around and do as we pleased which included purchasing a 12 hour vaporetto ticket so we could just hop on and off at any time and gave us the opportunity to go to S. Giorgio on the island across from S Marcs square and go to the top of the bell tower and see Venice from another view. We were also able to see the ship from there as well.

We were actually unaware that we could board the ship any earlier than 3pm as our paperwork stated that we could only board three hours before departure. It also made it easier for us to board as there weren't hoards of people trying to board at the same time. Keep in mind that when you do get on the ship, there is lunch in the buffet on deck 13 until 4 pm so if you are peckish go for it.

If you would like any further info, my email address is tangles00@yahoo.com.au and I will be happy to help.

The ship is beautiful and very very spacious. Enjoy!!!!!! :D
