Do the boat trip at Stavangar to Pulpit Rock. We did this in June last year and it was fabulous but be warned, if you sit on the top of the boat, take a mac! It gets a bit wet and windy!!

In Bergen, P&O provided a free shuttle to the centre, and although we did the walking tour, it would have been very easy to do on your own - head for the funicular and enjoy the views from the top.

Have a great time!

Hi, Just got back from Fjords on Oceana. We had amazingly good weather. It rained heavily for a short while, followed by a hail storm while we were in Bergen, then the rest of the cruise we had warm sunny weather. In Bergen I would recommend the fish market (we sampled smoked whale and some strange fish) where they also sell skins of wolf, seal and reindeer. Also visit Bryggen (the old part), all within a short walk from shuttle drop-off point. The Funicular is easy to DIY. The only other port we visited on your itinerary was Stavanger. Visit Old Stavanger which was immediately on the right of the dock entrance. It's beautiful wooden houses and cobbled pedestrianised street are so neat and clean and have several artists outlets and a museum.

It was snowing one morning at the top of the glacier and in the afternoon we were lounging by the pool in warm sun. We did lots of walks and didn't need our fleeces on. A warm jacket might be useful if outside late at night. Think layers.

We found Norway to be extremely clean and neat, sparsely populated, very friendly, we saw 3 cats on the whole trip and not one dog (strange), but on the whole it is very expensive. One group of 4 told us they had coffee and sandwiches in Bergen and the bill was £100.00)

I hope you enjoy your cruse as much as we did.
