We are sailing the first week in June to Alaska and got a note today that we had been upgraded from a mini-suite to a full suite. We are in one of the suites at the aft of the ship. Spikesgirl Posted May 24, 2008 #9 Share Posted May 24, 2008 Usually they notify you prior to your departure. Upgrading is a bit of a mystery, so the rule of thumb is that you show always book the cabin you're happy with and not expect an upgrade. At times, the upgrade might be to a cabin with a restricted view or in a part of the ship that has a lot of foot traffic above it. Don't just take an upgrade automatically, check out the cabin beforehand because it might not be as nice as the one you're giving up.

CCName Posted May 24, 2008 Author #11 Share Posted May 24, 2008 Its a total surprise. Our original booking was for category AE and about two weeks after we booked we got a notice that we were upgraded to AA. I was shocked when I received the email that we were upgraded to a suite. We are on a land cruise before hand - leaving today so the laundry service will definitly get used the first day on the ship which means I don't have to do it :) I'll try to report back as the trip advances. Thanks to everyone on this board for all your help. TJ
