gaelsail Posted May 28, 2008 #1 Share Posted May 28, 2008 News reports are that this ferry is stopping on 1 September 2008. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/tyne/7423142.stm My personal opinion is that it is vital that we keep a ferry link between Scotland and Norway & it is also used for mini cruises in either direction. Smyril Line's Norröna sails from Scrabster mid-June until the end of August but there is no other direct ferry. I think we need to campaign to keep a sea link because I have met both international & UK travellers who can't/won't fly and use this ferry to access Norway. What are your opinions please? gaelsail Posted May 28, 2008 Author #2 Share Posted May 28, 2008 :( Today has just seen the announcement that Superfast ferries is closing its Rosyth to Zeebrugge in mid-September. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/edinburgh_and_east/7424029.stm This leaves Scotland with only a short summer season of ferry service to Europe or Scandinavia. We need to do something now. Any suggestions anyone?
