sddeva Posted June 2, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 2, 2008 Hi, We are sailing on the Elation this Thursday. We are bringing a portable DVD player so our son can watch Elmo while we get ready etc. We are wondering if there are inputs on the TV's in the cabins that we can plug a DVD player into. Does anyone know about this? Thanks!
Travelitis Posted June 2, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 2, 2008 Can't say about the Elation, but we took our portable DVD on the Triumph, and we couldn't hook it up to the TV. I'm assuming that's what you meant - hook it up to the big TV to use as a DVD player.
cathyoo Posted June 2, 2008 #3 Share Posted June 2, 2008 I don't know much about electronic stuff. I did read several posts that said you were able to hook up games like PS2. I thought that meant you could also hook up DVDs. Aren't those input jacks the same?
cruisinstim8r Posted June 2, 2008 #4 Share Posted June 2, 2008 Just got off the Victory and our TV had the input jacks on the front. I assume you can use your DVD with them.
DavidandPaula Posted June 4, 2008 #5 Share Posted June 4, 2008 Those front jacks seem to be disappearing from TV sets in hotels etc. They did not have them in any hotel we stayed in in Europe last year and the TV in the cabin on Freedom did not have front ones. The ones on the back were taken up by the ships system and it was impossible to get to them to connect the iPod video cable so I could watch all the videos I had stored on it. *Mach* Posted June 4, 2008 #6 Share Posted June 4, 2008 I believe the Elation has the standard old CRT TVs. When I sailed on the Conquest there were audio and video inputs in the back of the same type of TV but you had to turn the TV to the stop to see 'em. They're on the right hand side, back, bottom... You can change the input with the remote.
