Rockee4055 Posted June 3, 2008 #26 Share Posted June 3, 2008 Yeah, you don't have to keep getting up to buy more or wait for someone to come along to take your order. I think it may be a little cheaper but for me, who cares. I never really did a comparison but figure I will buy them anyway so I might as well get 4 at one time. :)
gypsyrose Posted June 3, 2008 #27 Share Posted June 3, 2008 Don't really know that they were a whole lot cheaper but that's the route we always went. We also carry a small baggie of rock salt and sprinkle over the ice. Keeps them nice an cold till you're ready for them. Which isn't long but in that kare a bee in heat them babies can get warm fast. Ughh
TaterSalad Posted June 3, 2008 #28 Share Posted June 3, 2008 They had them on the Valor a couple of weeks ago. I don't remember the exact cost each way but we were buying the 16 oz. Miller Lites in the bucket and they came out to around 35 cents cheaper per beer with the bucket. We do it mainly for convenience.
Safetyal Posted June 3, 2008 #29 Share Posted June 3, 2008 Just off the Valor this Sunday. Had a couple of buckets and have to say Tater is right. The knock off about a 1.50 for a bucket of four on the 16oz. That is 1.50 per bucket, not per beer.
rwilk1129 Posted June 4, 2008 #30 Share Posted June 4, 2008 I agree there is not much savings on a bucket but it is the only way to get a really cold beer with those plastic bottles.
BigDfromTN Posted June 4, 2008 #31 Share Posted June 4, 2008 Hmmm a beer thread........... I drink beers at home but normally have mixed drinks on board. I feel they are a better price for my taste. 4.75 beers are hard for me to enjoy. Sorry!
Silc Posted June 4, 2008 #32 Share Posted June 4, 2008 You can also bring the bucket back to your cabin to keep new beer and mixers for other drinks cold too. Silc
JerseyshoreBruce Posted June 4, 2008 #33 Share Posted June 4, 2008 Just want to voice my opinion to Carnival....keep the buckets or I'll just eat you out of house and home instead. I love the buckets...keeps beers ice cold and keeps them coming! P.S. Carnival, boy can I eat so don't get me mad!

Ughh With my luck I would be the one pulled aside with the baggie full of little white rocks, lol. Trust me sir (security) its only salt to help keep my beers cold ;) Good tip though, I never though of that. I hope they still have the buckets, I enjoyed them but agree the ice melts fast on the lido deck :)

tatay Posted June 4, 2008 #36 Share Posted June 4, 2008 Buckets of beer is gone. At least that was what I was hearing everyone complaining about on the Liberty and Triumph. I don't drink it/ Probably someones better (or bitter) half trying to save some $$ :D
spikester Posted June 4, 2008 #37 Share Posted June 4, 2008 well, $4.75 for a beer is pretty average for me! But I always get buckets too. wow, and I am off tomorrow. At this time tomorrow I will be enjoying a bucket myself!
Hurricane Girl Posted June 5, 2008 #38 Share Posted June 5, 2008 Another benefit is that when the beer is gone you can dump the ice cold water on your buddy's head. We were hanging out with a group on the Triumph last week and they were having a war with the ice water.

pungo3 Posted June 5, 2008 #43 Share Posted June 5, 2008 I thought talk of beer was strictly verboten here at CC central. Buckets are perfectly acceptable as a topic of discussion. Otherwise, this thread would have gone poof quite a while ago.:D :D
TERMITEJR Posted June 5, 2008 Author #44 Share Posted June 5, 2008 Thanks for keeping it going, I wasnt aware of the beer thing. Room service Buckets sound good, wasnt sure if they would do that, thanks
Handsome58 Posted June 5, 2008 #45 Share Posted June 5, 2008 but remember the buck...buck-fifty you are saving by buying a bucket you will spend on a tip if you order it through room service......but I still do it because nothing like a cold beer being kept in your cabin.......the room steward will keep ice in it for you also............... L2J Posted June 5, 2008 #50 Share Posted June 5, 2008 Prolly not, would that even fit into the mini-bar fridge? Guess you'll have to drink fast or share. :D No Sir it would not. The bottle sitting on the floor comes to just above my knees and is about as big around as a large coffee can. It's a fine beverage that I was thinking about putting in a beer bucket.
