Is There A Sewage Smell On The Triumph ??

Looking forward to a great cruise on the Triumph..then I started reading about a sewage smell...yikes ! Any Triumph past guests who can share some info on this..thanks

Yes, there is but, I have found this smell on most ships at sime time or another. My thought is it is just venting from b-rooms with passengers with issues.

All cruise ships suffer from this malady occasionally.

 

I comes from carrying their sewage around with them.

 

Actually I would be a bit concerned with the environmental practices of any ship that never has the problem.

It wasn't terrible but we did encounter the smell a couple of times.

We smelled it on the way to muster drill (when we got to the 5th floor) when we were still in Miami.

 

Didn't smell it again for days... docked again.

 

I'm just figured it was from "offloading".... because I never smelled it when we were at sea.

You might smell it once or twice but don't let that shy you away from having a great time.

 

I too was concerned with the way it sounds on here and almost switched cruises for that and other things but I'm so glad I didn't. Had the best vacation of my life. Seriously!:D

Hi....I was just on the Triumph from 5/3 - 5/10. We were on the Empress Deck (7) and never noticed any odor. However, one of the couples in our group opted for a cabin as low as they could get (?!?!?) and were on deck 1. When we had to go down to deck 1 to get off the ship in all 3 ports, there was a noticeable sewage odor....not incredibly strong, but if I had a cabin on deck 1, I think it would become bothersome.

We were on the Triumph in April and didn't notice a sewage smell. We have smelled it other ships, though. We had a great cruise! Enjoy.:)

Just got off the ship on Sun. We were on deck one (for 8 days) and loved it there. We did notice the smell one time but it was not that strong.

I just got off the Triumph Sunday and yes, there is a sewerage smell in some of the stairways. I did not smell it in my room and I was in room 2398.

I smelled it Last October as we were boarding but never again. I guessed it was due to "cleaning the tanks" while at port.

I got off the Triumph on Sunday, and I noticed the smell one time in 8 days (we were on deck 8) It was gone a couple hours later when I walked back down the hall...

We were on the Triumph about two years ago on deck 3 and never smelled anything the whole trip except the burgers cooking near the pool!:)

We've smelled it a few times on various ships but it wasn't strong and did not last.

Was on Triumph from 5/17-5/24 on deck 8.....smelled the sewage smell, but only when we were in the bathroom in our room. I wouldn't worry about being haunted by the smell on other parts of the ship.

YES It was in my cabin and down where the photos were sold. On sea days it smelt bad. It took 20 min between showers for the water to drain in my cabin.

Gosh, I hope they eliminate that when it goes into dry dock. That's a major turn off! The Victory didn't stink! :rolleyes:

To the OP, the Triumph is a beautiful ship. I loved the subdued design. The smell if you do notice it is very brief. Go have a great time. The staff is terrific on the Triumph. They are probably the most helpful you'll find anywhere!

We've been on the Triumph twice and have not experienced smelling sewage. I'm sure any ship, at any given time, COULD have that smell...I'm not doubting past posters...but it's just not in our experience. Great ship, by the way. Have a wonderful cruise!

We were on the Empress deck last March and never smelled it once. We--all 16 of us--had a marvelous time. Enjoy yourself!!!!!!:) :)

I was on the Triumph in Febuary and only smelled it like twice the whole cruise, and I had a room on the first floor so I was close! The staff is amazing, they made it my best cruise to date!

We were on the Triumph over Thanksgiving 2007 and did experience the smell a few days while in port. On the days that we noticed it, we were also having problems with a showers/bathroom draining, so I figured that it was because they were working on the plumbing or emptying the system?

 

With that said, it in no way detracted from the fun we had! This was one of the best vacations that we have ever done. :)

Were you on the Lido? That was the same deck we had that problem, too..but it wasn't a big deal. I'd go again :)

We were on the Triumph / Lido Forward two summers ago and had a problem with our shower stall and directly outside our cabin. They came and poured somethng down the drain which took care of the smell in our bathroom. But the hallway continued to smell all week :confused: .

 

Enjoyed the ship :D .

 

Actually I enjoy any ship that I am on ;) .
