Kindly indulge an onboard booking question

Hey all! About to embark on X cruise #4. Likely to use it as an occasion for onboard booking #1. My big question: I may have to change the date of the cruise later -- currently looking at mid-December Caribbean, but depending on a variety of factors, might have to switch it to January. I know from current experience that you can change cruise dates and keep the same booking #. But if you book a certain cruise on board and keep the booking # but change the date later -- do you still get the onboard credit you were originally granted, or do they apply that ONLY to the specific week you booked, and if you change, you're out-o-luck?

You can book it, get the credit, change it and take the credit with you.

While on the Infinity in December, I booked an Alaskan cruise on Royal Caribbean's Serenade of the Seas for August. When I got home, I changed it to the Mercury for May...a week later, I changed back again to RCI for September. Booking # never changed. So, yes, you can make lots of changes as long as you keep the same booking #, your onboard credit is safe.

We changed the dates and itineraries (but kept same ship) several times for cruises we booked onboard. We always retained the shipboard credit.
