Do you have the choice to carry your own luggage off to catch an early flight? (10 a.m.)

10am is a bit ambitious. Usually the first guests get to the airport a little after 9am. Depending on the day of the week, you might make it, and you might not.

Yes, you can carry your luggage off the ship but there is no guarantee that you'll be off early enough for the flight. Customs in San Diego is hit and miss, sometimes they clear the ship early and sometimes it takes hours before they allow people to disembark.

I would book the 10am flight-- the airport is 5 minutes away. Just plan to take a taxi--that would be quickest. SD airport is so small, you can get through security in less than 15 minutes.

Debarkation Day

 

As soon as we heard the Bow Thrusters we were up and ready to pack and go, it was around 6:30am

 

Platinum cruisers were given #1 Embarkation Tags and we told to wait at Dukes Piano Bar at 8am. They started calling our number around 8:30am and off we went, Tags number 1,2, and 3 were called at the same time. It probably took 5 minutes to get off the ship, it went pretty fast. We had our own luggage with us so we didn't have to wait.
