Marie321 Posted June 9, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 9, 2008 We went on the Amtrak train. It was GREAT! A very relaxing way to get from Seattle to Vancouver and the price was very reasonable!
dubois4 Posted June 9, 2008 #3 Share Posted June 9, 2008 We will be taking the Amtrak Cascades 510 from seattle to Vancouver on June 17th. $96 for two adults and two children! It is supposed to be a scenic route with views of Pugent Sound!
Putterdude Posted June 9, 2008 #4 Share Posted June 9, 2008 Amtrak is a great way to go however the drawback is that there is only one train per day in either direction and the train norhbound out of Seattle leaves pre 8 AM so it doesn't work for all. You may want to look at Quick Coach as an alternative. www.quickcoach.com/
buelah111 Posted June 10, 2008 #5 Share Posted June 10, 2008 I definitely recommend the train. If you are coming from the east coast, the early morning time isn't so bad (it's really mid-morning). We took the train up. It was a beautiful ride and customs took five minutes once we arrived in Vancouver. We took the Amtrak bus back to Seattle after the cruise (because we didn't want to wait for the evening train). We literally sat in the bus at customs for 1.5 hours waiting our buses turn (once it was our turn it took another 30 minutes). The trip up took about 4 hours. The trip back on the bus, with customs, took almost six!
