Bargain Cruiser Posted June 8, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 8, 2008 Hi! Is there a train that runs from Seward or Anchorage to Vancouver? We want to fly into and out of Vancouver if we can. Can someone advice us? Thanks! Sharon and Bruce
Rare Gardyloo Posted June 8, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 8, 2008 No trains. Flying is the only realistic option unless you want to cruise back.

Can someone advice us?Thanks! Sharon and Bruce There is no physical rail connection from Alaska to the rest of the North American rail network. The Alaska Railroad is physically isolated. The closest you could come would be a roundabout route with a number of overnight layovers by taking the Alaska Marine Highway ferry service to Prince Rupert, BC, then take VIA Rail Canada's Skeena to Jasper, Alberta, and the Canadian to Vancouver. The Skeena stops overnight in Price George, halfway through its trip. It also misses connecting to the Canadian in Jasper, and since both trains only run 3 days a week, there would be a 2 day layover there. It would likely take longer than the cruise. It'd be pretty, though.
