Riley13 Posted June 13, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 13, 2008 Hi, We will be on the island from 12pm-9pm and currently have a tour scheduled with Joyce Prince until 4:30/5:00. Are any of the shops open past 5pm? What about Orient Beach? If we decided to have Joyce drop us at Orient Beach at around 4 pm, is the beach open until, say, 6pm? Could we get a cab from Orient back to the downtown area or pier at that time? Thanks!

Shops at the Cruise Facility will probably be open a bit later. Orient Beach doesn't 'close' but most of the activities/restaurants/bars will have closed or be closing down by about 4:00 PM. Taxi's will become less available after that time unless ships are leaving later in the evening, but don't count on one just being readily available. You may have seen photos of how busy Orient can be. Here's a shot of our tent, between Pedro's and Club Orient, taken at just after 4:00 PM. The beach is pretty much deserted. gary p.s. You can't go wrong using Joyce Prince.
Riley13 Posted June 16, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted June 16, 2008 Thanks Gary. I was afraid that might be the case at Orient Beach. Maybe we will have to schedule a quick stop there instead of a few hours. Thanks also for the picture, that was helpful!
Karysa Posted June 16, 2008 #4 Share Posted June 16, 2008 If you were looking for something to do in the late afternoon/evening you may want to try the Lord Sheffield sunset dinner cruise which departs and returns to the marina right near where the ship docks. Of course you could also go out for dinner. Karysa
