prizm8 Posted October 12, 2004 #1 Share Posted October 12, 2004 Would anyone share their experience disembarking from the Mariner at Port C? We are planning to fly back early afternoon out of MCO. Need a feel for how long it takes to get through customs. Thanks!
ugyvel Posted October 12, 2004 #2 Share Posted October 12, 2004 Three times we've done the Port Canaveral to Orlando bit. Each time we were at the airport ticket counters by 9:30 (before they even opened for the airline we were taking!). No sweat.
neverenufcruising Posted October 12, 2004 #3 Share Posted October 12, 2004 Just came off the Mariner's 09/12 sailing. If I remember correctly, they started calling luggage tags about 8:00 or so. We took our time and had breakfast because our color was pretty far down the list. We were driving so those, like you, with flights were ahead of us. Once they called our color it probably took another 30 mins to get through customs and get our bags. The lines moved pretty smoothly the day we were there. It seemed about 15-20 minutes between colors. I'm sure based on your flight info they'll get you out of there promptly. We've sailed from Port Canaveral 3 times and embarkation and disembarkation has always been a breeze.
LV2CRUZDASEA Posted October 13, 2004 #4 Share Posted October 13, 2004 We just got off the Mariner October 10th and debarkation was a breeze! We requested priority debarkation/white tags and they started calling colors at 8:00am. We got off the ship around 9:00 and we were able to walk right off the ship and into the customs line, which only took about 15 minutes! They had 8 customs agents working which really helped alot. aqusis Posted October 14, 2004 #5 Share Posted October 14, 2004 We got off the Mariner Sept 19 and it was anything but a breeze! To give them the benefit of the doubt, our cruise did leave from Miami but return to Canaveral so that might have contributed to the slow process. We had color Red 2 which was about 9th of 25 colors. They started calling colors at 7:30 and didn't get to us until 10:15. We didn't get to the car (parked at Canaveral)until almost 11:00. They called the first few colors quickly but it seems that once they got through the first 5-6 colors (which were identified as early departure) things just stopped. If you have an early flight, I'd make sure you get an early departure color (white, grey, beige, and I think lavender or lilac).
mimgan3 Posted October 14, 2004 #6 Share Posted October 14, 2004 hi all, we just returned from 9/26 sailing which also left miami in 9/28 and returned to p c, we had red 2 and after being called it took about 35 minutes to get thru customs, so maybe it does have something to do with leaving one port and returning to another. we have cruised two other times and its normally about a 10 minute process. mimgan
prizm8 Posted October 14, 2004 Author #7 Share Posted October 14, 2004 souns as if a 12:30 flight out of Orlando will be a snap even if we are renting a car to get from Port Canaveral to MCO. Thanks for all the feedback. When we disembarked in Miami from the Navigator (wow-nearly 2 years ago) it seemed to take quite a while to get through.
