Clothing to pack for Alaska in August (24th)

I was hoping someone could give some helpful info for what to pack on a 7 day cruise to Alaska in the end if August. Id like to be as prepared as possible, so I can pack as little as possible with all of the new baggage restrictions on the airlines. I am cruising on the Celebrity Mercury.

I am going September 24th and I am taking things I can layer, mix and match and water proof.

What kinds of excursions do you plan to do? The answer to that does make a slight bit of difference in what you will need to pack.

You are moving into the cooler wetter part of the season so I would be packing a waterproof/windproof jacket, a fleece or sweater to wear under it, cap or hat, gloves, a pair of leather shoes or sneakers that have been sprayed with a waterproofing, and maybe a pair or two of wool socks if your feet get cold easily.
