Did you see the article about passport "cards"?

I had not heard of this before. If it's been discussed in the last week when I was not on-line, I apologize for duplication.

 

Apparently the cards are no good for flying, but adequate for cruises, and I guess, crossing borders to Canada and Mexico if you are on foot or in a car. Don't know about if it's accepted if you go south of Mexico into Guatemala etc. by car. Do you?

 

The article was very vague. It stated that 72% of cruisers choose to get the full passport anyway. The tone of the article was that it was for cruisers who wanted to hop a ship to the Bahamas using the card for half the price of a regular passport.
