g4mannn Posted June 16, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2008 Can anyone recommend excursions that can be booked WITHOUT having to go thru the ship?
gomexico Posted June 17, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 17, 2008 Yes, there are activities you can plan for that can be done independent from what a ship promotes, and those will vary by port. What kind of "excursion" interests you?

Bucky3 Posted June 18, 2008 #4 Share Posted June 18, 2008 We went to the turtle sanctuary in Manzanillo through a ship's excursion and enjoyed our day there. My granddaughter did the dolphin swim in Ixtapa and loved it. You can read about it at http://www.delfiniti.com There is a turtle sanctuary in Acapulco as well, but we have not been there. melika091900 Posted June 18, 2008 #7 Share Posted June 18, 2008 we did the turtle release in acapulco. it was ok, fun for the kids. and in ixtapa we took a water taxi over to las gatas beach , nice area, good for the kids since theres not alot of currents or anything . seemed safe, just bring water shoes, theres rocks every so often. in manzanillo we went to la audencia beach, we took a cab there, it was an ok beach, nice to see iguanas roaming around, and you can rent a banana boat, jet skis, etc. we snorkeled there, it was ok, nothing tropical but a nice area,
katrinaph Posted June 20, 2008 #8 Share Posted June 20, 2008 I'm on the Carnival Spirit out of San Diego Jan 7. I have a private tour booked with the fabulous tour guide "Rosie" in Acapulco. Everyone says she's the best. I am looking for others to join our tour to lower the cost. 2 to 4 passengers 200 dlls., 6 passengers 45 dlls. per person, 8 passengers 40 dlls. per person, 10 or more 35 dlls. per person, these prices INCLUDES entrance fee to the divers from outside of the hotel. You can search Google for "tour guide Rosie in Acapulco" to hear the rave reviews. You can email me at katrinaph@yahoo.com if interested.
