Desertbelle Posted April 7, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 7, 2004 This is a discussion on one of the Port of Calls boards and I thought I would bring it here to get other people's opinion. The original discussion was about a day sail excursion. The owner of the boat is also the Captain. He has a 1st mate who is wonderfully helpful to the 6 people who are paying $120 each for the trip. No one denies that the first mate deserves a tip and 15% seems about right. The question is, do you tip the Captain? Obviously, the Captain is making a good wage, so do you give him even more than his asking price for the trip? Margie Celebrating Our Parents 60th Anniversary - Legend of the Seas to Mexico 9/5/04!!
