Flights From Vancouver

We are Canadian and flying home to Ottawa. How much time should we allow from ship arrival (NCL) to first flight from Vancouver Airport.

I should have mentioned, our ship is scheduled to arrive at 0800 and direct flights to Ottawa are at 1125 and and 1635. Would there be enough time to make the 1125 flight.

Offhand, I would suggest nothing before 12:00noon. The only difference

between a Canadian destination and a US one is the preclearance of

US immigration and Customs. The domestic terminal is going to be busy

any morning and the security check can be very time-consuming. Also, you do not

qualify for the in-bond transfer to your flight from the ship. Despite all of the

expansion, Vancouver just gets busier and busier. Depending on how many

are in your party and how much baggage you have, you might want to

consider booking a private car that will meet you off the ship. Cost is not a

lot more than a taxi and these can be scarce, depending on how many

other ships are arriving the same morning.

The 11:25 is pushing the envelope a bit. But double check about your arrival time, most of the ships get in at 7 am. But regardless it will take about and hour for the ship to clear customs etc before the first passengers come down the ramp. You need to get your bags and clear customs, allow 45 mins. You then need to line up for a cab which can be and hour. The trip to YVR in about 35 mins and you need to be there a full hour before departure on a domestic flight. So with a 7 am arrival it is just doable at 8 am it is not. I would book the 16:35 flight and breath.:)

Thanks for the good advice. There will be two other ships in Vancouver so I figure it may take some time to get a cab. I booked the later flight today.
