"Biscay:

Variable 3 or 4, but southwesterly 5 in north. Slight or moderate, occasionally rough in north. Showers. Moderate or good."

I would say 'average'.

Rough weather is anticipated for Dover due to a front coming through. Not a good time for channel crossings.

Biscay is further south and although it can be awful, this isn't the worst possible summer forecast.

I prefer gin!

Tablets make me sleepy!

Be out on deck when your ship sails away from Southampton. Sights not to be missed. Very pretty on a fair day.

I think you were looking at the shipping forecast which is the dog's dinner. I looked at the weather forecast. Big difference!
