Parking at Port of Miami?

We parked directly at the port in the covered garage for a one-night cruise. Going in was a breeze, but it was a goat rodeo on the way out as everyone was lined up trying to pay. I suspect this was made worse by the fact that most on the cruise were "local" (within driving distance).

It got so bad, they eventually just started waving cars through to clear the backlog...

Not sure if this is related to the short duration or what... but if you park there, park on the lowest level possible and nearest to the exit and back into the parking spot (which encourages others to let you out later as they have to see your face -- not so if backing out).

Given the brief duration, I didn't really worry about (nor can I recall) the rate -- maybe $20 per day?

Sorry that I can't be of more help.
