AEGBRG Posted July 3, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 3, 2008 We are doing Captain Zodiac and were wondering when is the best time to go? If we do the 8 AM one will it still be warm outside? Thanks in advance for any input
sceptic Posted July 3, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 3, 2008 morning snorkeling is almost always better than afternoon, due to PM winds plus the likelihood of PM clouds that form upslope. (I assume you're talking about Kona, but the PM winds applies to just about everywhere). As far as temperature, by 8 AM the temp at Kona should be at least the mid-70s, esp. in summer. It's gorgeous, frankly.
Duffys wife 1957 Posted July 3, 2008 #3 Share Posted July 3, 2008 We snorkeled in Feb in the am and it was beautiful. The water was warm, and so was the air. I wore a long sleeve t-shirt over my suit. (a wonderful hint from cruise critic that I snagged) That way if you are afraid of to much sun, that along with sunscreen should do the trick, and if you think you will be a little chilled its just enough to cover you...:)
richtoro Posted July 7, 2008 #4 Share Posted July 7, 2008 Definitely morning snorkeling. The water will be calmer and clearer.
