Miami Rental Cars--avis?

There have been postings on this board in the past on rental car discount numbers. I have found the best Avis rate to be the Florida State employee discount. Has anyone who has used these discount rate codes been asked for ID or information on how you got the code? Also, has anyone rented from the SE 2nd Street location and if so how have you go to the pier and when you return how have you gotten to pick up the car to return to FLL?

You asked the same question I have for a cruise 11/08. Did you use Avis with the employee discount code? Was there any problem? How did you get to the rental office, by taxi? Did one person go to pick up the car after the cruise and come back to the port for everyone else? I'm afraid to do that in case there's a problem with the rental and then we'll need to switch to a backup reservation I have with Dollar.
