Horseback riding in Sitka

The cruise lines used to offer horseback riding in Juneau and Skagway. I rode in Juneau in 2001. I noticed in 2005 when I cruised again they had discontinued that ride and now only offer one in Skagway. There is a private company in Canada that does a horseback riding tour that is not connected with the ships agendas. They are north of Skagway. If your ship is going to Sitka they are probably going to skip Skagway. I could be wrong. I found it very interesting to talk to these horse people about how they hauled their horses up there and got their feed.
