Ice bar and old town excursion?

Will be with NCL Jewel in Aug.20 in Stockholm from 8-5:30 pm.I would like to Vasa and the Ice Bar .Look like the only way to go to Ice bar would be to join NCL cruise excursion because Ice Bar open earliest available at 3:45pm then has to be back to the dock at least 2 hours before 5:30 pm. Is it possible to do Vasa early then join ship excursion later ?Web site doesn't tell as to what time Ice bar and old town excursion would start.

We couldnt get Ice Bar timings to work for us either then discovered there is an Ice Gallery. You could consider visiting it instead of the ice bar. There is a recreation of a room/bed at the Ice Hotel and a movie about the building of the ice hotel. The address and several lots of info/reviews on it can easily be found by googling. Read then decide if this would be a good enough substitute. You get to wear the hooded parkas and mittens etc.

 

It is in the old part of town which is easy to explore on foot without a tour, especially if you have a city map. And there is a HOHO bus so you could do a little homework and self tour that day.

Thanks for the reply.I was able to find out from NCL that they have several excursions so we are planning to do Vasa on our own then join NCL cruise excursion to old town and ice bar latter.
