Public phone to contact rental company in Halifax / St. John?

In reading these threads, it appears that our tracphone will not work in Canada. Are there public phones near where the ship docks in Halifax and Saint John that can be used to contact the rental car company when we are ready to be picked up?

I remember seeing several pay phones along the waterfront in Halifax. There were also some in the Pier 21/22 building (crew members were using them to call home, it was interesting walking through and hearing all the languages all at once).

 

I don't remember seeing any pay phones on the street in Saint John, but there must have been (I wasn't looking). There was a mall with pay phones 2-3 blocks from the pier.

Pay phones will be easy to find in Saint John, on the street and in buildings.
