? on Interior Stateroom Guarantee

What is meant by interior stateroom guarantee? Then what is the Q or Z stand for. Never did this before. Is this an okay way to book a room or should I pick a room #.

If you book a guarantee you could get an interior cabin anywhere on the ship. This includes what most people percieve as bad locations such as the lowest deck way in the front or the back of the ship. If you would prefer to be midship or on one of the higher decks you should pick a higher category or pick a specific cabin. The lower price of the guarantee is the tradeoff for not knowing where you will actually end up.

Guarantee (of what ever catagory) means just that. You're guaranteed a cabin in that catagory. I've had varing success with that.

If you can book a room you like for just a little more, it may be worth it. If you do roll

the dice and get a dicey (he-he) room, take it

up with the Purser. Good luck.

This means you would have a room, you would not be turned away at peir right? I would hate to travel that far and not have a cruise to go on. I dont plan spending much time in room so does not matters that much where it is located. Vacation is vacation!!

Correct, you will have a room. You might be surprised and end up with a room alot better then you're expecting.

That is what the "guarantee" is all about. You are indeed guaranteed a room. The cabin class, as you have indicated is "inside." The cabin category ranges from Q to Z. Those alphabetical designations are assigned to the location of the cabin on the ship.

 

For instance, "N" type cabins might be on decks 2, 3, and 4. They may be cabins that are generally located in the front or aft of the ship. A category "Q" cabin may be only located on deck 4 and are midship inside cabins. The higher the cabin class (inside, oceanview, balcony, or suite..etc) and the higher the deck your cabin is located on the ship, the higher the price.

 

The inside guarantee, simply put, guarantees you an inside room on the ship in an unspecified location (aft, midship, or forward) and on an unspecified deck (all the decks inside cabins are located on) until RCI figures out where they want to put you. You could be on the bottom deck at the rear over the engine room or on the 4th deck in a forward cabin, or on the 6th deck, midship, over the casino...etc. It's a roll of the dice. The swap off is a lower price for RCI being able to put you in any inside cabin they want to. On rare occassions, you might even be upgraded to a different class and category depending on the circumstances.

 

I have 4 cruises under my belt and went with guarantees on 3 of them. I have never had a bad cabin (if there is one on a ship) and have only been upgraded once, and that by only one deck. In all cases, my guaranteed cabins have ended up being midship.

 

My next cruise has an assigned cabin because I couldn't turn down the deal I got on that particular cabin and deck. My cruise in October is again, a guarantee. I just like the chance of getting a better cabin for no additional expense. I keep waiting for the "upgrade fairy" to give me that really big surprise!

 

It really is a personal preference thing. Some people will go nuts NOT knowing where their cabin is while others are into the cruise a couple of days before they ever worry about finding their cabin......or are able to find it......those drink specials are killers! hehe

 

So, it all comes down to you and what you can live with (your priority). The bottom line... you WILL have a cabin on the ship.

It means you're probably getting a really good deal...and they are guaranteeing an inside cabin for you somewhere on the ship. I think it's a great way to go if you want to save a little money and you're not particular about cabin location.
