JLewis8310 Posted April 8, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 8, 2004 Certainly did enjoy your pictures, thank you for sharing them! A girlfriend (who have I not seen in 13 yrs!) and I will be celebrating our 50th birthdays together this summer on an August sailing of the Mariner. Since you have just had your 50th---do you have any suggestions or ideas on what we could do to make this the absolute BEST birthday?! Many many thanks! disco dolly Posted April 8, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted April 8, 2004 Judy, tell EVERYBODY!! Be proud of being 50 and celebrate it with everyone you meet. You'll have the best time ever. My birthday has lasted for two weeks. We partied on board and we're still partying at home as we have a family night out on Saturday. We had a party in our cabin for our new friends and I'd taken balloons and streamers and a personal CD player with speakers and we had a blast. I took all my birthday cards on board to open and put them on the wall with white tack and it made the cabin look really special. My daughters had champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries delivered to my cabin for my birthday and we took the champagne to dinner and shared it with our fellow tablemates. On our anniversary my husband had some beautiful roses delivered to our cabin. It really was a very special cruise, our best ever and after a very difficult year I loved every minute of it. Look forward and be very excited because it'll be even better than you anticipate. Sheena

FnyFACEnAL Posted April 9, 2004 #15 Share Posted April 9, 2004 The pictures are awesome! Is RCCL replacing St. Marten with San Juan on a regular basis? I booked a cruise yesterday on the Mariner and was not informed of any port changes. Thanks and Happy Sailing! disco dolly Posted April 11, 2004 Author #18 Share Posted April 11, 2004 The dessert with the peanut brittle wasn't from the regular menu in Portofino's. I'd already had a fabulous berry dessert and this was a special brought out to me as the waiters sang Happy Birthday to me in Italian. I'm still celebrating my 50th as my family held a surprise party for me last night and I can't believe I didn't know a thing about it. Can my waistline and my liver stand any more of this? Our cruise was the best ever and I'll remember it always with great affection.
