NJDeb2 Posted July 10, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 10, 2008 Just to let anyone sailing to Alaska in August, the prices have dropped considerably. I contacted my TA and he was able to get me a $150 OBC...I was so excited...my first time I was able to get one. It was for a 4C inside(my kids room)...unfortunately my 8D(balcony) was sold out so I couldn't get anything for that. I would definitely call my PVP or TA and check it out. Good luck!! Cruzman Posted July 10, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 10, 2008 I suspect that the problems associated with flying are having a marked affect on the Alaskan cruise market which is already glutted with ships.
parrotthead Posted July 10, 2008 #3 Share Posted July 10, 2008 The airlines prices was the first thing that came to my mind too. I expect that there will be nice resident discounts for none port states just around the corner.
NJDeb2 Posted July 10, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted July 10, 2008 I am sure it is the airfare. I booked ours last Sept and feel I got a fair price. I looked at it now and it is almost twice as much. We are fortunate to live where we have several diff airports to fly out of. I saved $880 for 4 of us just because I was willing to drive 150 miles to JFK from where we live. The only good thing for all of us that booked so long ago, the price has dropped for the cruise. This is one time I am glad I didn't wait till the spring to book the flights. Jrabbit128 Posted July 10, 2008 #5 Share Posted July 10, 2008 Hopefully this trend keeps up until later this year because I want to book a B2B Alaskan cruise in September 2010!
