kruzerci Posted July 11, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 11, 2008 We're at the Hilton in Atlanta tonight and flying out tomorrow morning for a quick little trip on the Enchantment! We usually put the luggage tags (the colored ones with your cabin number) on after we get to Florida, but this time we're going to be in a hurry to get to the port when we land in Fort Lauderdale. Is it okay to put them on before we get to the Atlanta airport tomorrow morning or is it better to do it when we get to Fort Lauderdale? Will they rip them off in Atlanta when we check them? DHADEN Posted July 11, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 11, 2008 You do run the risk of having any tags ripped off but the "Air-Carrier" to avoid confussion. I would save the RCI tags. When you go to the airport baggage claim and collect you luggage in Ft. L, then put them on. It should only take an extra few seconds. Hope This Helps. Clarea Posted July 11, 2008 #3 Share Posted July 11, 2008 With the way air travel is these days, I wouldn't do anything to confuse the poor airlines. I'd leave the tags off until you retrieve the bags at your destination. Plus, the airline might impose an excess tag surcharge!
PhoenixCruiser Posted July 12, 2008 #4 Share Posted July 12, 2008 I wouldn't put them on either. ###
vickiw0318 Posted July 12, 2008 #5 Share Posted July 12, 2008 Put them on in Ft. Lauderdale. The airport is just a short cab ride from the cruise ship pier.
bdoster Posted July 12, 2008 #6 Share Posted July 12, 2008 I agree with above, no need to confuse handlers with a different tag. They are very easy to slap on...
nanfromatlanta Posted July 12, 2008 #7 Share Posted July 12, 2008 Do not put your tags on until after you retrive your luggage after your flight. It only takes a few minutes to put the tags on.

garycarla Posted July 12, 2008 #9 Share Posted July 12, 2008 Gee... I just timed it. Tags on three bags -75 seconds. Like the others, why risk the airlines getting confused or ripping them off?
