NewCruiser10 Posted July 13, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 13, 2008 I was just wondering about the hair dryer on the Glory. Is it a good strong one or should I bring my own? I am trying to travel as lightly as I can. Also, what are the ammenities they have in the bathroom?

cruisealloverme Posted July 13, 2008 #3 Share Posted July 13, 2008 Been on the Glory twice and will return once more in Oct 08. The hair dryer is in the drawer in the room, not in the bathroom. It is a light hair dryer and if you have heavy long hair probably wont work well. I also like my directional adapter on mine, so I alway take my own. In the shower there is a pretty good shower gel and shampoo, but I dont think there is any conditioner. There is a basket of stuff, tums, mints, toothpaste, etc but it is always hit and miss with what you get. I think if you cant find something you could ask the steward and they would probably find it for you. Remember to tip up front for your room steward and they will take good care of you. Fraucruiser Posted July 13, 2008 #5 Share Posted July 13, 2008 Just off the glory on July 5th. I have long thick hair and used the blow dryer every evening just fine. The only thing I will say about it is...you have to press the button the whole time while drying. It automatically turns off if you don't have the button pressed in. fllady61 Posted July 13, 2008 #6 Share Posted July 13, 2008 I personally don't use a hair dryer unless it is cold outside. Mainly because I have short hair and it dries fast anyway. However, my DD did use the dryer, and complained it did not work right.
osiebosie Posted July 13, 2008 #7 Share Posted July 13, 2008 I also got off of the Glory on July 5th, and the hairdryer in my cabin, located in the dressing table drawer, turned on at the button and stayed on (it was not like Fraucruiser's). It was a nice hairdryer, but I am growing my hair out, and so I brought my own. I could have used the one in the cabin, but mine was still stronger. For just drying it, the cabin one would have been fine, for styling, mine was better. Btw, we usually tip at the end of the cruise, but we have tipped early before on longer cruises. It doesn't matter either way; it shouldn't affect your service. Shay
ivycruise Posted July 13, 2008 #8 Share Posted July 13, 2008 My wife was frustrated at the hair dryer on the Glory in our room as we too had to hold the button for it to stay on. It was also pretty weak. She is going to bring her own from now on. Not a big issue for me but if you have a lot of hair guess it can be frustrating. tinkeh Posted July 13, 2008 #9 Share Posted July 13, 2008 I also just got off the Glory on 7/5. I hated the hair dryer. It wouldn't stay on and took a long time to dry the hair.
