Halifax-renting a car

Recommended Posts

Here is a map, if this works it should show the pier and closest car rental agencies. Looks like Alamo, Hertz and National are the closest to the pier. http://maps.google.com/maps?near=1055+Marginal+Rd,+Halifax,+NS+B3H+4P6,+Canada+(Pier+21)&geocode=3056773851247562977,44.637786,-63.565758&q=car+rental&f=l&dq=Pier+21+loc:+Halifax+NS&ie=UTF8&ll=44.637786,-63.565758&spn=0.027544,0.052872&z=14

As for an easy drive to Peggy's cove, well with a good map or GPS system, you should be able to make your way to the road that takes you to Peggy's Cove no problem. The road it's self in no super highway, it's a narrow road that follows along the coast with lots of twist and turns. But shouldn't take much more then an hour to get there and well worth the drive IMHO.

It was just announced on the news tonight that the parking lot in Peggy's Cove, which has been free since the beginning of time and is owned by the restaurant there, will now cost $5.00. However, when you pay they give you a $5.00 voucher that you can use in the restaurant. At least that is how I understood the news item.

We rented a car from Enterprise and when I called them they picked us up. It was a Saturday and they closed early so when we returned the car we walked back to the ship. It was a nice walk along the waterfront, maybe 15 minutes.

We drove to Peggy's Cove and had no problems getting there at all. We also went to the Swiss Air Memorial just a short drive from Peggy's Cove.

You will have an awesome day!
