rubyrosedreamer Posted July 15, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 15, 2008 Does Carnival use any one particular ship as a main training vessel or are new employee's just scattered throughout the fleet?
cruisinbuddy Posted July 15, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 15, 2008 I don't think so. I belive they are scattered. We boarded a ship and saw 5-6 new employees getting a tour. I won't sail an innaugural (sp) cruise because of all the new employees. Just because they don't have a routine yet.
cathyz Posted July 15, 2008 #3 Share Posted July 15, 2008 Does Carnival use any one particular ship as a main training vessel or are new employee's just scattered throughout the fleet? They are scattered around the whole fleet. Every cruise has crew leaving and new crew starting. Some may be brand new and some from other ships. rubyrosedreamer Posted July 15, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted July 15, 2008 Thanks for the replies. On my first cruise, a lovely couple I happened to meet and talk to for awhile, mentioned the Valor as being a main training ship. With the number of employees, I had to wonder how it worked. I've been lucky enough to have contact with the most fabulous people working so hard on the 2 cruises I was on. Kudo's to Carnival Staff!
batoutofhell Posted July 15, 2008 #5 Share Posted July 15, 2008 Maybe he was mistaken, but on our personal galley tour, the officer guiding us said that they use two or three ships to send their waiters-in-training to their "training college." He didn't say which ships specifically, but that's what he said they did. Anyone else hear this?
