rskalko Posted July 15, 2008 #3 Share Posted July 15, 2008 There is also a free burger and hot dog place located one deck above the main pool but when we were aboard it's hours were very short each day.... but they had excellent pretzels!
njguy_south Posted July 15, 2008 #4 Share Posted July 15, 2008 NONE of the resturants are free. You paid for them in your cruise fare. However, there are some that charge an additional fee.

Ask4Jay Posted July 15, 2008 #6 Share Posted July 15, 2008 So true, so true, njguy. Why not take it a step further? Aren't the premium restaurants free as well? At least I have never paid, I just charged it! So there.

GiantSox Posted July 16, 2008 #9 Share Posted July 16, 2008 Thanks but the brochure seemed to be referring to one restaurant--anyone know which one they meant?
mylesf Posted July 16, 2008 #10 Share Posted July 16, 2008 Thanks but the brochure seemed to be referring to one restaurant--anyone know which one they meant? They usually direct people to one of the main dining rooms for formal night, however, you can dine in any of them.

mpwarder Posted July 16, 2008 #15 Share Posted July 16, 2008 Wow, that is just terrible. If I had to pay for Salsa, I probably would not have looked back on my cruise positively. I might be done with specialty resteraunts outside of special occasions. It was really nice to have that extra option salsa provided. I hated the Blue Lagoon. gszach Posted July 16, 2008 Author #16 Share Posted July 16, 2008 I am sailing Dawn Oct 5. I am quite disappointed to hear that Salsa will be charging. For many people the food is one of the highlights of cruising. My wife loves Mexican food and was so excited when we booked that there was a mexican restaurant that didn't charge extra. It is really a bummer as our wallets are already stretched quite far as is...err, we're married now, I mean, our wallet.
watchdiva Posted July 17, 2008 #17 Share Posted July 17, 2008 Look at it this way - most pax easily spend more than $20/day on bar bills. Cut back a drink of two and voila - you've paid for your dinner at Salsa. We ate their on our 6/08 Dawn cruise and the lobster tacos ALONE would have been worth paying the $10pp restaurant charge for - I kid you not, those tacos were truly incredible. If I had to decide between two $10/pp surcharge restaurants (for example, Salsa and Impressions), Salsa would win hands down. Impressions was pretty good (the antipasti trolley was great) but Salsa had lobster tacos........... Did I happen to mention that the lobster tacos ROCKED:D ? Did I happen to mention that the lobster tacos ROCKED:D ? The lobster tacos were an extra $10 even with salsa being free. Salsa was still free last week when I ate there (in maybe shorts without a reservation kinda by accident - uh oh).
