Hi,

 

I was wondering if anyone who lives in Washington DC could answer a few questions for me. I have to put on a dinner for 20 people and was wondering if anyone heard about the New Heights Restaurant or Petits Plates? Which would be nicer? Also, is there a nice hotel aound Calvert St, other than the Omni?

Your question about dinner for a large group gets asked a lot in these chats with the Washington Post food critic, so read a few transcripts and you should find some good suggestions. (I don't have an opinion on the two restaurants you named).

 

As for a hotel near Calvert street, the Marriott Wardman Park is right there too, and is quite nice.

Also, since Washington DC title is already posted, we are going there in August, and are thinking about staying at the Grand Hyatt Washington? Is that a nice hotel? (Seems like it from reviews and photos)

 

Also, what is a nice restaurant around that area that is not for a group?

 

And info and tips would help.
