Alaska_or_bust Posted July 21, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2008 My husband and I like to shoot pool and wondered if there were any pool tables on the Pearl? I know they have bowling, rock climbing, basketball courts, etc. but haven't heard anything about pool tables.
*Wink* Posted July 21, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 21, 2008 I haven't been on the Pearl, but if you go to NCL.com's website and click on the Pearl link, there's a pretty good description of what each deck has. It would probably say whether or not she has pool tables.
LateCruiser Posted July 21, 2008 #3 Share Posted July 21, 2008 There weren't any on board in 2007. Can you imagine how interesting it would be if the balls were rolling all over the table?:D
670aspencircle Posted July 21, 2008 #4 Share Posted July 21, 2008 Just returned from Alaska on the Pearl yesterday. There were not any pool tables. It's interesting that you would mention this because we just responded to the NCL post-cruise evaluation and suggested that they get pool tables! Alaska_or_bust Posted July 22, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted July 22, 2008 Thanks for the information. I know that I didn't see anything mentioned about pool tables on NCL's website, but I thought maybe they just didn't mention it. When I go, I will put it on the post cruise evaluation form. Maybe if enough people suggest it, they might add them in the future.

Very cool - they are mounted on gyroscopes....so while the boat rocks the tables stay flat. If you stare at them long enough, you can get a little queezy....but for a game or two it is fun. Rare CTCruisers Posted July 22, 2008 #7 Share Posted July 22, 2008 They did have a pool table on the Gem. It was interesting watching players when the boat was rocking and swaying. They had a dart board as well.
megessey Posted August 3, 2008 #8 Share Posted August 3, 2008 They don't have the pool table stabilizers like on the Radiance?

I wonder how much a gyro pool table would cost? I would guess about $50k minimum. I'm sure that is the reason why you don't see more of them.
