Is passport ONLY documentation needed?

for embarkation? If you have a passport, do you still need to bring a birth certificate and/or drivers license with photo id?

No its the only ID you need. It is what I use at the airport and when checking in for cruises.

I leave mine on the ship though and just take my drivers license and a xerox copy of my passport.

It's all the ID you need.

To CHECK IN...passport is all that will be needed.

Now to get on and off the ship at ports...you will need a "picture ID" and you CAN use your passport...but we always use our drivers license.
