please follow up with any addional findings about this..

it s a tragic event for everyone..the man s family and friend s and

the officer s involved..

can t try second guessing what the officer s could have done..

police officer s live by the creed of protecting their own..

my son is a oakland police officer in a high crime area..but, regardless

of the area..if someone is combative, use a stun gun, mace or baton..

if they have a weapon, then it s rightful to draw a firearm..

I wish people would wait for the coroner report instead of trying to speculate as to why this man acted as he did. Unless of course they are the coroner actually examining the body.

Please show respect as you would if it were your own family member ok? This was someones son or brother. :( Someone loved him.

My father was a police officer for 25 years. My uncle a sitting sheriff for 28 years. Another uncle who was a cop and 2 cousins as well. I am well aware of the dangers and decisions that cops have to make every day. It isn't easy.

I can't even say what I would have done in this situation. I do not always agree with the choices that cops make and I think some are too quick to pull the trigger. But I wouldn't want to be in the position.

Again please cut out the jokes. Its disrespectful.

For those that want to second guess the cop. If you take more than half a second to decide what to do, you're disqualified. If you did decide if the cop was right or not in less than half a second, you must live with that decision forever, its unchangeable.

Thank you for saying something about the jokes. I saw them earlier before they were gone and I was horrified that people would joke about this situation.

Wow, that really put things in perspective. I have never thought about it that way before. Thank you.

  • 1 month later...

I had not seen the story regarding the actual incident. I did see the story about his grieving family and their news conference photo.

They loved their son/brother very much and I am sad for the loss of their loved one.

We should all be lucky to be loved and missed so much.
