mafiadon Posted July 22, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 22, 2008 I know that you can take the ferry to Capri from the port but is it difficult to go from there to Pompeii or should it be done in reverse. I don't know how far Pompeii is from Naples, could someone please give me some advice on this. Thanks Linda
KT32 Posted July 22, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 22, 2008 Depends on how long you have in port. Personally I would pick one or the other and not try to rush and do both in one day. Pompeii is HUGE. From the Naples central train station or Sorrento station you can take the circumvesuviana commuter to Pompeii scavi station in about 30 minutes, with trains running about every 30 minutes. You're looking at 40 minutes each way to get to Capri from Naples by hydrofoil or 80 minutes by ferry. Also keep in mind that if the seas are rough, the hydrofoils may not run...
