Question for Platinum Cruisers
We always look at the list at the Casino Cage and there are usually around 15 Platinum members on board. There have been as few as 8 (4 of which were us) and as many as 35.
So, there is a list of Platinum members? I have never noticed this!

Yes....it is at the Casino Cage. They use it to mark off your name and have you sign after you receive your free slots/blackjack entry. But even those under age cruisers have their names listed....they just have a NO by the free gambling entry since they are under age.

From time to time I have also seen one at the Platinum Pursers station...but not all the time.

One thing that stood out (though did not tarnish our Platinum card one bit) was that the Purser was OUT of the MILESTONES REWARDS stickers for our Platinum cards. Not a biggie by any means - though it then appeared that we might have "only" had 10 Carnival cruises under our belt rather than 25+ LOL

At which milestones are stickers offered? Possibly this was answered already but there are just TOO many replies on this thread to read them all.

You will (should ...lol) have a Milestones Rewards (sticker or imprint) at your 25th sailing and beyond.

Hey Tom: You could always take a couple of old cards with you and if they are out of stickers (or not using the printed ones)...just peel the one off your old card and stick it on the new one!!

Btw, it was kinda funny. On the Imagination in January...they just had a regular Platinum card (no sticker or imprint)...so we went to the Purser's Desk and they said "just a minute"....APPARENTLY they had to get the key to a SAFE to get the Milestone cards out to put the name and info on it.

They kept them in a SAFE. I thought that was a hoot!!!

Funny!

Yes, because we don't want them to mix them up with all those regular Platinum cards... LOL

Seems like a GOOD INDICATOR that a TOTALLY NEW CARD is needed!!!

Our Platinum experience on the Paradise has been just so-so. It almost seems like the staff doesn't know what the platinum card is.

While waiting in the VIP line at the P-desk, my Wife was asked to use the regular line - upon showing her card, the otherwise nice lady said "yes, thank you mamm - you must wait your turn at the end of the line"... My Wife started to protest but another rep came from behind the curtain and explained to the 1st rep what a platinum card was and instructed her to finish with her current customer and then help my Wife.
While a little ackward, the exchange wasn't unpleasant - I'd say it was a learning experience for a new rep.

I'm wondering if there are a lot of new employees on the paradise since it's a smaller ship doing shorter cruises. On our regular cruises (Spirit & Pride 7 & 8 days) - we have always recieved lots of 'welcome back' type comments from bar tenders, waiters & others - even when we had gold cards.... On the paradise, we've never received a single 'welcome back' from anyone...

No biggie - we'll still enjoy our short get-a-ways on the paradise without the extra attention ..... :D

I guess these things happen, but really...this program has been in place for OVER 2 years now. Time for the bugs to be worked out by now.....

I can remember on the Spirit (July 2005) when we got our first Platinum card
(this was before there were any official benefits attached to them...that started in 2006) . Ours was the first one our Cabin Steward had ever seen.

It was a hoot!!!
That's ok....you can still tell the Milestone Rewards Members by their DOUBLE LINES!!!! ;)
I've been reading this thread and I did'nt know they posted a list for Platinum or above in the casino either. Is this list readable from any one? I've seen them cross me off a list in the casino for playing the slot tournament or blackjack but haven't seen the list you showed us a picture of yet and will look for it on our next cruise.
What did you mean by being able to tell the Milestone Reward Members by their Double Lines:o ?

They usually bring it out from hiding (it's typically on a clipboard) long enough to cross your name off for picking up your Complementary Tournament Card. It's at this point that you can usually sneak a peek - even if upside down!!!

I don't sneak a peek...I blatantly say "can I have a look?"
I know...I am ruthless that way!!!

I don't know if all ships handle it this way...but on the ships we have sailed on they have the Milestone Members names (on this same list) "highlighted" in a darker kinda gray color and double spaced for emphasis.

I have never seen the list in the dining room. Just one in the casino and a couple of times at the Purser's desk.

We have not been denied yet. What are they going to say to a Milestone Reward Member??? No???? ;)

However, I must admit that we wait to go when the casino is not busy to get our cards...so looking at the list is much easier. I would not hold them up to do this if there were a lot of folks standing in line.

It isn't like there is a bunch of personal information on there....just a name, age (or date of birth...I can't remember which off hand) and the number of cruises.

I always try to take a quick look at it, and every cruise I have been on the list is getting longer.

In regards to the tournament entry, is it just one they give you, or a free entry into any and all of the blackjack/slots tournaments?

I'm not much of a gambler, but my first Platinum cruise is in January, and it just so happens to be my batchelor party.;) :D

You get your choice of one free entry to a Slots Tournament OR one free entry to the Blackjack Tournament.

We always do slots because I don't gamble...but I can push a button.

20 year old son plays the blackjack tournament.

Hubby won the Slots on the Imagination in January....$500.00 woo hoo!!!

But considering the number of times we have played...those are not good odds....so this is why we don't gamble....;)

Thanks LHP.

I know what you mean about the One Arm Bandits, they are very easy to play. Thats what I will probably do.

Hey....while we are on the subject of Ocala, Fl.....(we really weren't but ...)

would you consider all the main chain motels off the Interstate ok to stay at?

We will be spending one night there before heading to Ft Lauderdale in Nov and I did not know if there were any exits I should avoid.

Thanks!

The SR. 200 (College Road) exit is the best. There are plenty of hotels to choose from. There are also lots of restaurants and stores at that exit.

At the high end, you have the Hilton there.

More towards the middle, you have La Quinta, Courtyard Mariott, Hampton Inn, Fairfield Inn, Holiday Inn (which is brand new), and Country Inn and Suites.

Its a good area around there, so I don't think you should have any trouble.

Let me know if theres anything else Ocala related you need to know. After 25 years, I know it backwards and forwards!

Sorry I'm always asking questions not helping, but even though I've cruised alot I'm still learning from cruise critic mainly. What cards do you go to the casino to get?
Thanks

Questions... that what this whole site is for!!! LOL

Platinum members receive a COMPLIMENTARY TOURNAMENT ENTRY card (for the slots or blackjack).

The last four cruises I have been fairly lucky - I made it into the blackjack tournament finals THREE times, and won TWO - all thanks to those FREE cards!!! :D
