Galleria Umberto, Naples, QV

Has anyone been to Galleria Umberto Mall in Naples.

 

Am interested if QV docks near it that we can take a short taxi ride, or walk.

We were in Naples in May on QV - The Gallerie Umberto is approx 10 mins stroll from the Cruise Terminal. It is undergoing extensive renovations at the moment and there was alot of scaffolding about - however the shops are still largely operating as usual and are interesting. Have fun.

We are not there until November, so hopefully most of the renovations will be complete.

 

We have been to Naples several times, but have not seen this mall which we read is 100 years old, and a very popular tourist attraction.

The Galleria Umberto is lovely. Make sure to take your camera with you as the building is spectacular! Oh and be sure not to have a purse or wear jewellery. No doubt you're aware of the crime in this city.

Did you have a chance to visit the cameo shops around there? Is it worth it?

I visited the cameo shop last year.

 

It looks like all the tours stop there. There was bus after bus. Very busy on the road near there.

 

You first watch the fellow make the cameos. It is very fine and precise work.

 

I did not buy anything as the ones I liked were very expensive for me. My daughter-in-law did buy one, which was small.

 

At the back of the store is a small leather shop.

I know about the crime, but was planning to take my purse, but will only use a money belt now.

 

I am looking forward to see the mall. It looks great on the internet pictures.
