Not sure if I am following you on what is deceiving on NCL's part? The on board credit is valid for inside, ocean view, balcony, mini-suites and suites, this also applies to the "up to 3 Cat upgrade" (as long as it is available). There are some sail dates that this promotion does not apply to and they disclosed that in the promotion.

 

Categories not combinable with upgrades: N, M, L, HH, H, BE, BI, BH, all mini-suites and suites.

 

This is the fine print on my email about the sale. NCL told me it was NOT valid on suites as I hoped.

I booked a couple weeks ago for 6/14 on the Dawn. I had a BA booked. I emailed my TA & was able to get this applied. Saved $80 on my cabin & received $50 OBC.

 

On the NCL website for my cruise, you can see the discount when you check the prices. By the "BD" it says ugraded to BA for free. (or something like that.)

I booked 3 weeks ago for October 09. I just called the agent and after being on hold for 25 minutes, he came back and said he cancelled my original booking and said that he was able to upgrade me from a chosen BB to a midship BA.....right under the pool deck. (He obviously hadn't heard about the noise from the chairs being moved) It would save me $60. and I would get $75. OBC. I didn't want the cabin he chose, but he said he was unable to give me the deal for the BB. But I want a quiet holiday, so I stayed with my original booking. I was going to contact guest relations, but received a email later saying NCL was going to honor the $75. OBC.........the moral of the story........it doesn't hurt to try

My online TA wrote me back that this is not a deal for me...I paid a little over $1800 for 2 with a BD balcony. He said he could upgrade me to a BB for $60 more (is it worth it?) but with the current OBC promo, it would cost me about $400 more to get those OBC!!!

I was not complaining about the promotion. You stated that the promotion was good on suites when in fact it is not. I was only posting the fine print from the email I was sent. I booked using the promotion and am very happy with what I got. I did want to book a suite and get upgraded to a better suite but that was not what was offered. Understood however it is OK to wish for something as long as you are not complaining. I do not think NCL was being deceitful however you may want to read the post clearly before you accuse someone of something and make sure you have your facts straight before giving others advice.

Actually, it doesn't not say the "new bookings only" stipulation, followed by the wording about reservations that are cancelled and rebooked will be repriced. According to my PCC, they will review and reprice, if requested. He even saw someone booked in an AE on the Jade that got a $400 OBC, without a price change at all...that reservation was booked in April.

You're still getting the OBC for the suites...There are just not enough suites on the ship to be able to feasibly offer upgrades on them.

I just called and got a great deal. I got the Aft mini I wanted and 150.00 OBC for each of us. Was going to go in 2010, but could not beat the price they gave me, plus the one board credit.

The OBC amounts are dependent on the specific voyage/itinerary. It could be anywhere from $150-$400.

There are two parts to this promotion: 1st: 3 category upgrade (and not all categories are included in the promotion) and 2nd: Ship board credit, Mini-Suites are included in this promotion. I have my facts straight.

It is still for new bookings. NCL will cancel the original booking and create an entirely new booking for this promotion. The system will not allow them to cancel and rebook under the same reserveration number. Anyone that has this promotion offer and had a previous booking will have a completely different confirmation number. One word of advice, is do not cancel the original booking until you have compared pricing with this promotion. Not all bookings will come out ahead.

We just finished booking the Sun with this promo. We're doing a back to back.

NCL wanted to book it as one cruise,so the cabin credit would have been 150

dollars . Agent said that was a rip off and NCL re booked the cruises as separate segments to get the 300 cabin credit.

I booked a 2009 cruise back in May, and I also called my NCL Consultant and asked if the new sale could do anything for me, and it did! I got the upgrade to BA, I got to pick my cabin, I got $75 OBC, the price of the cruise dropped $152.00, and my booking number is the same as the original.

 

I guess it depends on who you talk too and how it is booked originally.

I called my PCC and after the smoke cleared I saved $21. Still the same BA cabin, BUT, I did get a $50 OBC. (booked in Feb for a Dec. cruise on the Dawn.)
