Tourist bureau at the cruise terminal

Barbados is one of our favorite destinations. And thanks to Barbados government's tourist bureau at the terminal, we have never been gypped. Their people have been unfailingly courteous.

On our first cruise they recommended Boatyard, told us exactly how much to pay the cab driver. The trick is not to succumb the nasty hucksters who are orchestrating cab drives at unrealistically high prices right after you exit the terminal biilding.Just keep walking and soon you will see another group of cabbies, who are courteous and charge fair fares.

Subsequently we have always stopped at the tourist bureau. We went to Brighton Beach (which was almost deserted and remains my favorite, even though the bottom is somewhat corally) and in March to Accra. We'll be back in February and will sure head to the tourist bureau for some advice we can rely on. We'll probably return to Brighton, which is just $3 pp. cab ride from the port. Brighton has changing rooms and a restaurant. Loungers can be rented. Several miles of surf and sand and hardly anyone around.

Can only second that, last cruise we went with some friends and of course we never could make up our minds until the last minute, which was getting off the ship and looking around, we went to the Barbados Tourism Board, to ask for assistance. They were great, soooo helpful, we ended up on a Catamaran Cruise on Calabaza Cruises, and honestly had the most fun ever, the service was way beyond of what we experienced before on any of the other catamaran tours, plus which such a short notice, they were right there with everything you could ask for, of course this was just our luck, that they were available that day, but I honestly can only recommend them. We have been on other catamaran cruises in Barbados all through cruise critic, but this one topped it all. Same stops as the others, they just seem to put a lot more umph and service into it. Thanks to the Tourism Board we would have never had found them, try them out and the Tourism Board in the terminal they are a great resource for things to do.
