Getting to and from the port and airport...taxi?

Hello,

 

We'll be crusing on the Victory at the end of September. Carnival offers transfers to and from the ship and airport for $40/person each way. There will be two of us. I was wondering if it would be better just to take a taxi.

 

1)Does anyone know if it would less than $80 to get from the airport (LGA) to the ship?

 

2)Are there taxis waiting at the ship at departure that could take us to the airport?

About $35-40 for a taxi. There will be cabs all over the place. First come first served. If you want DEFINITIVE transport for your party, hire a car service. There are a lot of them listed in this forum. I use Dial 7 from NYC.
