Bahia Mar

We stayed there in October 2007. It was clean, beds were comfy, the front desk people were nice (even brought us toothpaste and toothbrushes because our luggage had not arrived). The elevator took forever, the shower looked a little bit older and I felt it was not close to anything. We did walk to dinner the night we arrived but it seemed far, then again we were walking with a four year old too. When we arrived the lobby was loud because they were having a reunion and a homecoming. I worried we would not be able to sleep because of the noise but that was not the case. My husband and son slept just fine, I couldn't sleep because I am like a kid the night before going to Disneyland.

We have stayed there a couple of times. I think it is a very good location. Directly across street from beach with walkway to the beach. Also about 1 block to water taxi stop. Sun Trolley stops in front of hotel. A little bit of a walk if you are looking for bars/restaurants in walking distance though. The Bahia Cabana hotel about a block away does have a fun and lively outdoor bar and restaurant overlooking the marina. We have stayed both times in the marina building with a marina view. If you elect for the cheapest rooms called the courtyard view you will be overlooking the parking lot. I would go for the marina view and ask for a balcony which are limited to 4 on each floor overlooking the marina. There is a small deli located on the property at front of parking lot. Not much activity in hotel. Last time we arrived around 9pm and no bar or restaurant open.
