Jaketess Posted August 5, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 5, 2008 :) My husband and I are thinking of booking a combined Alaskan cruise with a Canadian land tour, to include both train and coach tours. We would be grateful if anybody could advise us on which tour company to use or would it be better to book the tours separately? We do not want to pay too higher prices but realise it will be expensive. We would also prefer not to be aboard a ship that is too formal. Any suggestions/help would be very appreciated. Putterdude Posted August 6, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 6, 2008 I don't know how much of Canada that you want to see, however, if it is western Canada and the Rockies there is the Rocky Mountaineer or if by coach then there is Brewsters. www.rockymountaineer.com/ http://www.vacationscanada.travel/packages/motorcoach.aspx
diddydee Posted August 13, 2008 #3 Share Posted August 13, 2008 My husband and I are travelling from Calgary to Vancouver and then doing the Alaskan 7 day cruise with Royal Caribbean. I did a lot of price checks before booking (last Sept) and foung the company we are using to be the cheapest. I don't know if it's allowed to post the name. It is based in the UK though. I originally booked the cruise through the same company as it was priced the same through RC. After Christmas a CC member posted that there was a price drop on this cruise I contacted the Agent and they couldn't get the new price for me. I saved ove 250 pounds by paying a cancellation fee of 200 pounds on the cruise and rebooking direct. For two adults the cost is approx 3700 pounds, includes flights from Manchester (not transfers) 7 days escorted rockies tour with accomodation and breakfast,7 day alaskan cruise (OV) tips and surcharges. We have booked excursions for Alaska independantly over the net. Just over 3 weeks before we travel so can't give any feedback yet:)
