tipping after wedding?

 Hi does anyone know if we are sopposed to tip the officiant/wedding people ? We are getting married on the Liberty of the Seas Sept 20.

We are paying quite a bit using the Royal ROmance people, so we're not sure if we need to tip additionally? Small ceremony, no after party except for the couple traveling with us.

Thanks!

There have been a few threads on this in the past...

Tips are not included in your package price or reception prices. They only charge gratuity on food and beverage.

All officiants should be tipped at every wedding in my opinion, cruise ship or church. They do not get paid very much. Same goes for wedding coordinators. They don't expect much but a little something is always appreciated. You wouldn't believe how many people do not tip!! Some coordinators deserve it more than others. Tip according to the service you receive. If you think they did a good job, then do tip them. I would suggest you put someone in charge of tipping , like FOB or FOG or Best Man. That way the Bride & Groom don't have to worry about it and can focus on their guests and having a good time!

I agree with somebody being put in charge. We meant to tip the coordinator and the officiant. Everything was kind of crazy that day, and with us off taking pictures, the officiant off to another ceremony, as far as I know it never happened. My parents might have taken care of it without me knowing, but I felt REALLY bad that we forgot.

We forgot as well. I never thought of having someone in charge of that. Our wedding coordinator really didn't do much and I am not sure if the Captain could/would accept tips but I wished I'd remembered. We did tip the photographer the next day when we saw her at one of the island stops -- we tipped her $50.

We got several $20 bills and some envelopes and we seperated all the money and gave them to my best friend, who was my "go-to girl" of the day. She made sure that everyone got their envelope with the tip.

Here's what we tipped:

Officiant: $20

Coordinator: $40

Photographer: $40

Videographer: $40

DJ: $20 (we supplied all the CDs and music)

NICE PHOTO!

Congratulations and Best Wishes!

Were you married on the ship? What port?

Thanks

What port are you getting married in? I'm on Freedom for my wedding in February! We are getting married in Ocho Rios. Can't wait!

We were married on the Carnival Valor and tipped our Officiant $60 and the coordinators (2) $40 each. I had a few thank you cards with me and quickly wrote them out in my cabin before the ceremony. They were very grateful for the cards/tip. :)
