uppitycats Posted August 6, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 6, 2008 We will be arriving in Halifax on Saturday, October 11 (by NCL Jewel cruise ship). My husband wants to go here: 10 Brunt Road Harrietsfield, Halifax He's assuming he would catch a cab....is that possible? That is, how far away is this address from where the cruise ship would dock, and are cabs available, or will he need to arrange other transportation? Thanks! :)
MonaCD Posted August 6, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 6, 2008 According to Google Maps it's 15.9 km – about 25 mins driving. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=&saddr=1055+Marginal+Rd,+Halifax,+NS+B3H+4P6,+Canada&daddr=10+Brunt+Road,+Halifax,+NS&sll=44.608145,-63.60386&sspn=0.151051,0.266418&doflg=ptk&ie=UTF8&ll=44.610512,-63.603973&spn=0.151045,0.266418&z=11 Can't tell you anyting about taxi availability at the pier, maybe someone local can do that. uppitycats Posted August 6, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted August 6, 2008 Thanks! I tried mapquest-ing it, but didn't know how to move from US to Canada... I'm going to bet that there are cabs there somewhere...cost isn't an issue; he's wanted to go to this place (Loyalist Arms) forever...and this will be his only opportunity, I think. The Mapquest site is the same for both the US and Canada. Just enter NS (Nova Scotia) if it asks for state. I live in Halifax and I think that it is safe to assume that there will be taxis available. uppitycats Posted August 7, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted August 7, 2008 Thanks, Rick. It appears that he'll be just fine, and I'll be able to get off the ship and play in Halifax while he's off on his adventure. Should be a fun day!
CabotTrail Posted August 13, 2008 #6 Share Posted August 13, 2008 that little drive is going to set you back a nice chunk of change halifax cabis are quite expensive try getting a cab off the wharf at an hourly rate before you go.
