Kid Sensation Posted August 6, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 6, 2008 What do we do at San Juan with so little time? We arrive Feb 1st 2009 on libert of the Seas. We are the active type and love outdoors. Not really excited about a walking tour, casino or shopping. We want outdoor action! Thought the bio bay sounded more up are alley but doubt there will be ample time? Anything else? ? ?
rainforestgirl Posted August 6, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 6, 2008 From 3-10pm on a Sunday..... Actually double check- I think you come in on a Monday the 2nd.... The problem is OSJ is an old city. There is not much nature there. For nature, you need to take a tour. There is not enough time for the BioBay, you will need to come back! You could try booking a tour or renting a car Some nature options: go to the rain forest. The gates close at 6pm, but you will be able to see some of it. http://www.puertoricodaytrips.com/category/rainforest/ You could go to the Botanical gardens in Rio Piedras or Caguas. http://www.puertoricodaytrips.com/2008/05/27/caguas-botanical-garden/ http://www.puertoricodaytrips.com/2007/02/23/passing-some-time-in-the-botanical-garden-jardin-botanico/ There is a Zipline in Guaynabo that is fun. http://www.puertoricodaytrips.com/2008/03/09/marquesa-original-canopy-tour/ You can contact the Hacienda Carabali for ATV rides or horse back riding. They sometimes will make a later trip for cruise people: http://www.puertoricodaytrips.com/2007/09/07/hacienda-carabali-atv/ It is after Happy Hour, so that is what I come up with.....;-) My site may have more ideas that you might find interesting: http://www.Puertoricodaytrips.com
javier Posted August 15, 2008 #3 Share Posted August 15, 2008 Visit the website of the Puerto Rico Tourism Board, http://www.gotopuertorico.com, and look for the list of Nature & Adventure tour companies and probably they will suggest what will be your best option. Plus, you have a list of places you can visit. You can try renting a kayak or bike at Piñones, where their is a communitary project. Also, Hot Dog Cycling at Isla Verde rents bikes. Depending on your timeline, try cave exploration.Good luck.
